HACKENSACK, N.J. -- Hackensack University Medical Center (HUMC) is the first hospital in the state to offer robotic guidance for spine surgery. HACKENSACK, N.J. -- Bergen County notables turned out to cut a large red ribbon that signaled the official opening of a much-needed 650-space parking garage at the new Justice Center in Hackensack on Oct. 9. Grand Ave. Closed In Leonia Monday For Sinkhole Repair
LEONIA, N.J. -- Grand Avenue in Leonia will be closed Monday from Station Parkway to Fort Lee Road. The state Department of Transportation is making a repair to a major underground sinkhole recently discovered at the intersection of Grand Avenue and Prospect Street. The street will be closed from 9 a.m. until approximately 5 p.m., in both directions. Traffic will be diverted around the intersection onto Station Parkway. LEONIA, N.J. -- The Friday Night Fright After Hours Halloween Party will be Friday in the Leonia Library. To set the scene, the library will be transformed into a mad science laboratory with a haunted house, games and spooky fun for families. Mahwah Must Pay Ambulance Company Legal Fees
MAHWAH, N.J. -- The township will have to pay legal fees incurred by Mahwah Volunteer Ambulance Squad Company 1 following a Superior Court judge’s ruling, NorthJersey.com reported. Judge William Meehan said the township must pay $3,000 it cost the volunteer company when they sued the township for failing to provide a 30-day notice of lease termination when they moved a new company into the headquarters, and for violation of the Open Public Meetings Act, according to the story. TENAFLY, N.J. -- A borough college student who deliberately crossed illegally into North Korea so “some great event could happen” was freed Monday after almost five months of detention by the communist dictatorship, NJ.com reported. Closter Man Gets 6 Years For Selling Heroin In Overdose Death
CLOSTER, N.J. -- A Closter man described by his lawyer as “the face of the heroin epidemic” was sentenced to six years in state prison for his involvement in the overdose death of an Emerson woman.
