Edith Wheeler Library To Screen 'Minions'
MONROE, Conn. -- Edith Wheeler Memorial Library will screen "Minions" for its next Family Flick from DVD event Sunday. A spinoff from "Despicable Me," the PG-rated animated film follows the titular characters that live to grovel for supervillains and other masters. The screening begins at 2 p.m. in the Ehlers Meeting Room. Edith Wheeler Memorial Library is at 733 Monroe Turnpike.

Weston First Selectman Favors Plan To Renovate Police Station
WESTON, Conn. -- Newly elected Weston First Selectman Nina Daniel aims to tackle the issues, both big and small, facing the town in her new post, according to The Weston Forum. In her two months in office, Daniel has helped to facilitate the restocking and reopening of the Weston Food Pantry and granted $2,000 in aid to the Mort Schindel exhibit at the Weston Historical Society, The Weston Forum reported. Parents Can Learn About Internet Safety In Pleasantville Program
PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. -- A "Parenting in a Wired World" program will take place at Pleasantville High School auditorium on Wednesday, Jan. 13. Laura A. Forbes, an assistant district attorney in Westchester County's High Technology Crimes Bureau, will discuss issues such as what's behind a child's screen, keeping kids safe in the digital age, parenting the tech generation and the antisocial side of social media. Ridgefield Selectmen Plan To Walk The Rail Trail
RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- Ridgefield's Board of Selectmen will meet for a trail walk on Thursday, Jan. 14, according to The Ridgefield Press. The public meeting will begin at 11:30 a.m. in the parking lot by the northern end of the "rail trail" and proceed down the trail to Florida Road in Branchville, The Ridgefield Press reported. The meeting is to determine what can be done to make the trail safe for running, walking and bicycling. Formerly a railroad bed, the trail is currently owned by Eversource, said The Ridgefield Press. PELHAM, N.Y. -- Pehlam Jewish Center will host a screening of the documentary "Crossing the Line 2" Tuesday, Jan. 12. "Crossing the Line 2" documents rising anti-Semitic messaging included in anti-Israel demonstrations on college campuses.
