Graphic Design Class Tops Somers Library Events For Teens In December
SOMERS, N.Y. -- Somers Library will host a few events for teens throughout December. Teens can learn how to draw in three dimensions at 3D Design with SketchUp on Wednesday from 6:15 to 7:30 p.m. The designs of participating teens will be 3D printed at a later date. Rockland Independent Living Center Distributes Turkey Dinners
ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- The Rockland Independent Living Center distributed 100 turkey dinners to local veterans and individuals with disabilities. Rockland County Ed Day and state Assemblyman Ken Zebrowski thanked the center for their efforts, as well as the Rockland Community Foundation, Shop Rite/Inserra Supermarkets, The Lions Club and the Rubino Family for their generosity.

Man Suffering From Auditory Hallucinations Tops North Castle Police Blotter
NORTH CASTLE, N.Y. -- A man suffering from auditory hallucinations is among the recent incidents reported by the North Castle Police Department. On Nov. 16 at 9:25 a.m., a complainant at Old Orchard St. reported a 19 year old student allegedly experiencing auditory hallucinations, possibly due to marijuana laced with PCP. He had not shown any violent tendencies. On Nov. 13 at 12:18 a.m., a male running in the shoulder of the roadway and a female occupying a parked vehicle were involved in a verbal dispute. GREENBURGH, N.Y. -- A public hearing on possible improvements to the traffic flow and pedestrian safety at the Greenburgh Center and Knollwood Rd. will be held Monday, Nov. 30 at Greenburgh Town Hall. Police Apprehend Two Suspects Following String Of Poughkeepsie Robberies
POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Two people were arrested for alleged involvement with a string of strong-arm robberies in Poughkeepsie on Wednesday morning. According to Time Warner Cable News, Kyle Loucks, 29, and Jazman Williams, 28, were charged with robbery and assault. Shortly after midnight, a man was punched and held down while a woman took money and items from his pocket. A second man was allegedly assaulted and robbed in a similar manner on Maple St. at around 12:38 a.m. A man on Main St. was also assaulted and robbed of several hundred dollars in cash a couple minutes later on Main St. …

Fatal Police Chase Justified, Yonkers Police Say
YONKERS, N.Y. -- The police chase that came to a fatal end on Monday evening was justified, according to Yonkers police in a story on lohud.com. Sharlene Stinson, 46, was killed as a stolen van crashed into her sedan. The two suspects, a 16-year-old boy and 14-year-old girl, are in critical condition. Commissioner Charles Garner said that since the van was allegedly involved in robberies and was being driven in a reckless manner, the circumstances permitted a pursuit by police officers, lohud.com reported. Stamford Police Enforce 'Click It or Ticket'
STAMFORD, Conn. -- The Stamford Police Department will participate in the "Click It or Ticket" enforcement program over the Thanksgiving holiday period. During a four hour period on Tuesday, officers issued 23 infraction tickets for no seatbelt, nine for cell phone violations and five miscellaneous tickets. They arrested one driver who had a warrant for failure to appear. They also arrested someone with an arrest warrant for assault and ticketed a driver for a cell phone violation and driving with a suspended license.
