NTSB Releases Report On Fatal Titicus Reservoir Plane Crash NORTH SALEM, N.Y. -- The National Transportation Safety Board has released a preliminary report on a recent plane crash in the Titicus Reservoir. According to newstimes.com, the cause for the accident remains unclear. After a week and a half of searches, the New York City Department of Environmental Protection found the plane's propeller, control panel, a firewall and parts of the engine, wings, cockpit, and tail. Trumbull High Graduate Dies After Rollover Crash On Thanksgiving TRUMBULL, Conn. -- Anthony Teixeria, a 21-year-old Trumbull High School graduate, died Monday afternoon after a rollover crash on Thanksgiving morning, according to Trumbull Times. Teixeria died of head injuries on Nov. 30, the Times said. He was riding with four other passengers in a Nissan Pathfinder that flipped before landing on its passenger side at about 1 a.m. Thanksgiving in Beardsley Parkway, the Times said. Mark Zuckerberg, Wife Welcome Daughter, Pledge 99% Of Shares To Initiative Westchester native Mark Zuckerberg and his wife Dr. Priscilla Chan, have announced the birth of their first daughter, Maxima Chan Zuckerberg, in an open letter pledging to donate 99 percent of their Facebook shares to philanthropic efforts. Hudson River Water Levels Are Projected To Rise The New York Department of Environmental Conservation recently presented new sea-level rise projections that call for a dramatic rise in the Hudson River levels. According to Poughkeepsie Journal, the new projections predict a rise between 10 and 54 inches for Hudson River levels by the 2080s, with the "medium" projection calling for a 25 inch increase. Baby Safe Haven Program Offers Safe, Legal Option For Abandoned Newborns \Officials would like to remind New York residents of the Baby Safe Haven laws after the recent death of a newborn child. According to Time Warner Cable News, Baby Safe Haven laws in New York state permit anyone with a newborn up to 30 days old to anonymously give up their baby to a hospital, fire department or police station with no questions asked. Southport Steps Out On Thanksgiving For 38th Annual Pequot Runners Race SOUTHPORT, Conn. -- Runners lined up Thursday, Nov. 26, to take part in a Southport holiday tradition: The 38th annual Pequot Runners Thanksgiving Day race. More than 5,000 participants hit the road, including families, children and dogs. They were greeted with beautiful weather for the annual tradition. Stratford Nursing Home Fined By Department Of Public Health STRATFORD, Conn. -- The state Department of Public Health has fined four nursing homes by at least $1,000 due to residents being cut, abused or neglected, according to a story on ctpost.com. According to ctpost.com, Lord Chamberlain Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, of Stratford, was among the four homes fined.
