Art Show Opens At Westwood Gallery
WESTWOOD, N.J. -- Westwood Gallery will exhibit paintings and prints of Helen Frank starting Sunday. Frank resides in northern New Jersey and has spent five decades making art and attracting collectors with her signature expressive lines and color use. The exhibit launches with a book signing from 2-5 p.m. Nov. 8 and will continue through Dec. 30. Westwood Gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays. FEMA Gives $3 Million More For Fairfield's Penfield Pavilion
FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- The Town of Fairfield has received a Project Worksheet with a big increase in funds from the Federal Emergency Management Agency for the Penfield Pavilion repair project. The Project Worksheet is for $6.59 million, which is $4.6 million more than the original draft from FEMA. BROOKFIELD, Conn. -- Brookfield Public Library will host a free performance by J and B Lite for the 10th Annual Veteran's Day Program Nov. 8. The event is part of Brookfield Museum and Historical Society's "A Musical Salute to Veterans." Worker Seriously Injured In Construction Site Accident In Danbury
DANBURY, Conn. -- A worker was seriously injured in an accident Monday at the construction site in the parking lot of North Street Shopping Center. Two employees of CJ Fucci Construction were onsite to transfer material to another location about 1:34p.m. An excavator operated by Kenneth Hodgon, 49, struck Imad Sayad. Sayad was pinned against a second excavator and suffered serious leg and head injuries. E. Coli Risk Leads To Massive Ground Beef Recall
All American Meats Inc. has issued a massive ground beef recall due to the risk of E. coli contamination. According to a news release by the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service, approximately 167,427 pounds of ground beef products produced Oct. 16 have been recalled. The presence of E. coli was detected Oct. 30 by the agency's testing. The recalled meat products feature establishment number "EST. 20420" inside the USDA inspection mark.
