Bronxville Schools Taking Feedback Through Letters From Parents
BRONXVILLE, N.Y. -- In addition to informal communication, parents can also register compliments or concerns regarding faculty or staff in the Bronxville Union Free School District through a signed letter. Letters should be addressed to the principal in the case of faculty or the superintendent in the case of administrators. The supervisor will acknowledge the letters in writing and share them with the individual teacher or administrator, and with the superintendent and the Board of Education. MOUNT PLEASANT, N.Y. -- Mount Pleasant's annual Fall Foliage Festival took place on Oct. 17 at the Broadway Field in Hawthorne. The festival featured rides, face- and pumpkin-painting, games, live music, scarecrow building and more. It was organized by the Thornwood-Hawthorne Chamber of Commerce and the Mount Pleasant Recreation Department.

Mystery On The Menu At Friends Of The Hyde Park Library Dinner
HYDE PARK, N.Y. -- The Friends of the Hyde Park Free Library will present a murder mystery dinner at Coppola's Bistro on Saturday. FDR Library In Hyde Park Celebrates United Nations Anniversary
HYDE PARK, N.Y. -- The Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum will host a series of events to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the United Nations. From Saturday through Nov. 23, the library will display the original Charter of the United Nations on loan from the National Archives. The Charter can be viewed with regular museum admission. Woman Charged With DWI After Taconic State Parkway Crash
KENT, N.Y. -- Lorena R. Cole, 46, of Brewster was arrested for allegedly driving while intoxicated. According to New York State Police, state troopers were notified of a one-car collision on the Taconic State Parkway near mile post marker 34.3 northbound. Officers reportedly found a heavily damaged, unoccupied vehicle upon arrival at the scene. Cole emerged several minutes later from a wooded area and was allegedly discovered to be intoxicated. She was arraigned and released on her own recognizance. Cole is due to reappear in Kent Court on Nov. 17.

BEDFORD, N.Y. -- The Lions Club of Bedford Hills will host a Halloween pancake breakfast on Oct. 25. PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- The Peekskill girls varsity soccer team volunteered at the Down Syndrome Buddy Walk on Oct. 18 at Dutchess Stadium. “It was awesome,” said Coach Cami Basso. “There were so many good things happening all around.
