West Milford School Board Approves Solar Study WEST MILFORD, N.J. -- The West Milford school board recently approved a solar feasibility study for the district's schools. According to northjersey.com, the $42,500 study will determine whether the buildings of West Milford High, Macopin Middle, Marshall Hill Elementary and Westbrook Elementary Schools can handle 35,000 combined square feet of solar panels. The proposed project is being considered for fall 2016 after a proposed replacement of the roofs at the high and middle schools. Click here to read the full article.

Scarsdale Library Screens Healthy Eating Film 'Forks Over Knives' SCARSDALE, N.Y. -- Scarsdale Public Library will screen a film that explores changing from animal to plant-based diets on Nov. 7. "Forks Over Knives" examines the notion that diseases like cancer and diabetes can be controlled or reversed by abstaining from animal-based and processed foods. Local plant-based nutrition coach and health educator Ronna Corlin will lead a discussion and Q&A following the film. The screening begins at 2 p.m. Refreshments and snacks will be served. Advance registration is recommended at scarsdalelibrary.org.

Darien High Save The Children Club Halloween Event DARIEN, Conn. -- Darien High School's Save the Children club will have its annual Halloween event for community pre-schoolers Wednesday. Pumpkin decorating, temporary tattoos, treats, a bake sale, a witch toss and more will feature at the event. Sweet and scary costumes are welcome. The event will take place from 3-4:30 p.m. in the Darien High School courtyard. Enter through the archway near the auditorium. The encouraged donation is $7 per child and $15 per family of three or more.

Author David Adler Visits Darien's Royle Elementary DARIEN, Conn. -- Children's author David Adler recently visited students at Royle Elementary School. Adler has written more than 200 books, including the popular Cam Jamsen Mysteries series. He talked to the students about finding inspiration in everything and presented rebus puzzles to solve. Adler detailed his use of images instead of words in some of his books.

Putnam County Sheriff Searches For Woman Charged With Criminal Mischief PUTNAM COUNTY, N.Y. -- The Putnam County Sheriff's Department is looking for Angela J. Wojcik, aka Angela Cote, to answer for the charge of criminal mischief. Wojcik, 46, was issued an arrest warrant on Feb. 5, 2009 in Patterson.
