'Heneral Luna' Biopic To Debut In Bergenfield
BERGENFIELD, N.J. -- "Heneral Luna" will open at Bowtie Cinemas in Bergenfield on Oct. 30. The 2015 Filipino historical biopic follows the leadership of General Antonio Luna during the Philippine-American War. Showtimes are at 4:10 p.m., 7:15 p.m. and 10:15 p.m. on Friday. It will screen at the same times on Saturday and Sunday with additional early showings at 1:15 p.m. On Monday and Tuesday, the movie showtimes are at 4:10 p.m. and 7:15 p.m. It will screen at 1:15 p.m., 4:10 p.m., 7:15 p.m. and 10:15 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday.

'The Nerd' Hits The Spotlight At The Darien Arts Center Stage
DARIEN, Conn. -- The Darien Arts Center Stage will present its production of Larry Shue's "The Nerd" on weekends in November. "The Nerd" tells the story of Willum Cubbert, a young architect who becomes an unexpected host to a hopelessly inept, frustrating nerd who overstays his welcome. YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- Our Montessori School celebrated National Popcorn Month with a hands-on lesson. “They had to really listen hard for the first three very quiet kernels to pop, and tell us it was time to pour in the rest and then all of our other senses were discussed while corn was popping," said Alexandra Rundle, Head Teacher. Pleasant Valley Man Threatens Victim With Knife, Police Say
WAPPINGER, N.Y. -- A New York State Police arrested a Pleasant Valley man in Wappinger for menacing. Michael Lara, 36, was accused of threatening a victim with a knife during an argument, according to troopers dispatched to a private residence. Troopers investigating the menacing complaint found Lara at his residence and transported him to the Wappinger barracks. He was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Wappinger Court on Nov. 5.

VALHALLA, N.Y. -- Valhalla Middle School's Partners Program participated in its first-ever Pumpkin Extravaganza Oct. 23. Teams of students and staff carved pumpkins, ate Halloween treats and discussed school and hobbies throughout the afternoon gathering.
