Greenwich Chamber Luncheon Celebrates Women Who Matter
GREENWICH, Conn. -- Nancy Armstrong will be the guest speaker at the Greenwich Chamber of Commerce's luncheon on Oct. 29 to celebrate women who make a difference in Greenwich and beyond, . Armstrong is a founding member and producer of MAKERS.com and the PBS documentary series "Makers: Women Who Make America." WESTPORT, Conn. -- Washington Post columnist Lonnae O’Neal Parker will be the guest speaker at the next meeting of Y's Women on Oct. 26. Parker wrote "I’m Every Woman: Remixed Stories of Marriage, Motherhood and Work" and was recipient of the 2000 Columbia School of Journalism Award for distinguished coverage of race and ethnicity in America. Urban Legends Will Frighten Fox Lane High's Haunted House
BEDFORD, N.Y. -- The Fox Lane Players will present Haunted Mansion: Urban Legends on Saturday. This year's annual haunted house on the Fox Lane High School Mary Lou Meese Theater Stage will feature frightening urban legends coming to life. Students of all age are welcome, and there will be a child-friendly version of the mansion. Admission is $5.

Dumont Historian Gives Suffragist Talk At Cresskill Library
CRESSKILL, N.J. — Dumont historian Dick Burnon will give a pre-Election Day Talk on suffragist leader Alice Paul on Oct. 29 at the Cresskill Public Library. Paul, a feminist and women's right's activist, strategized events such as the Silent Sentinels in the 1910s campaign for the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. She also fought to secure constitutional equality for women with the Equal Rights Amendment. The lecture will begin at 7 p.m. at the library, 53 Union Ave.

Nyack Chamber's Halloween Parade Expected To Draw Thousands
NYACK, N.Y. -- The Nyack Chamber of Commerce's annual Halloween Parade will take over the streets of Main and Broadway on Saturday, Oct. 24. More than 20,000 spectators are expected to watch the floats and costumed participants. Participants and floats assemble in Memorial Park at 3 p.m. and the parade begins at 5:30 p.m. To register for the float or costume contest, visit nyackchamber.org.

Operation Entebbe Hero Shares Personal Account In Pound Ridge
POUND RIDGE, N.Y. -- Israel Defense Force Commander Sassy Reuven will share his experience during Operation Entebbe Thursday, Oct. 29 at Chabad of Bedford. Reuven served in the Israel Defense Force's "Red Beret" unit during Operation Entebbe, where the groyp went behind enemy lines in Uganda and rescued 102 hostages. Fifth Annual Bluegrass and Cider Concert To Rock Wortendyke Barn
PARK RIDGE, N.J. -- The Wortendyke Barn Museum will host an afternoon of "Bluegrass and Cider" on Oct. 25. Bluegrass musicians Kenny Kosek, Barry Mitterhoff and Joe Selly will perform a free outdoor concert. Limited seating is available and patrons are welcome to bring chairs, blankets and a picnic.
