WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Westchester could see it first sub-freezing temperatures since April overnight into Monday. According to the National Weather Service, a freeze watch is in effect from late Sunday night through Monday morning for Westchester, as well as other areas in southeast New York, southern Connecticut and northeast New Jersey. Saddle Brook Schools Ready For Spirit Week
SADDLE BROOK, N.J. -- Spirit Week will take over Saddle Brook schools starting Oct. 19. The celebrations will begin Monday with a pumpkin patch and walk-a-thon followed by an ice cream sale on Tuesday and blood drive on Wednesday. A book fair will take place on Wednesday and Thursday. Conn. Man Charged With Violating Order Of Protection In Yorktown
YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- Yorktown police arrested a man from New London, Conn. for second-degree alleged criminal contempt. According to the Yorktown Police Department, Jeremiah B. Herring, 37, reportedly sent a text message Oct. 15 to a female Yorktown resident in violation of an order of protection. Herring was arrested in Elmsford later that morning, police said. Herring was remanded to the custody of the Westchester County Department of Corrections after he could not post bail. He is scheduled to answer the charge Thursday in Yorktown Court.
