Pelham Picture House Presents Advance Screening of 'Learning to Drive'
PELHAM, N.Y. -- The Picture House will present an advance screening of "Learning to Drive" at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 12 with a post-film discussion with director Isabel Coixet and critic-in-residence Marshall Fine. The film stars Academy Award nominee Patricia Clarkson and Academy Award winner Ben Kinglsey as a mismatched pair helping each other overcoming the road blocks of life. Yoga For Teens Program At Somers Library
SOMERS, N.Y. -- Somers Library will host a yoga and mindfulness program for teens and tweens by Denise Nobile from 3:30-4:30 p.m. July 23 and 30 The program is aimed at young adults in fourth grade and above and teaches participants yoga poses, as well as how to slow down and increase their internal and external awareness and calm down using breath. Nobile is an ELA teacher at the Somers Middle School and trained in the Little Flower Yoga, which is a comprehensive certification for teaching children ages 3-18. PUTNAM COUNTY, N.Y. -- Mahopac Public Library will host the "iterations" art exhibit in the Third Floor Gallery from Aug. 1-29. The library will hold an artist reception Thursday, Aug. 6, from 6-8 p.m. "Iterations" is a project, process and body of art resulting from a six-month mail-based exchange by six local artists. The artists circulated 30 paper canvases measuring 10 by 10 inches in a round-robin alphabetical sequence based on first names.
