Kathryn Merker, 85, of Bedford BEDFORD, N.Y. -- Kathryn "Kate" Merker, 85, of Bedford, died Sunday, May 31, at Westchester Medical Center.  Born July 5, 1929 in Cincinati, Ohio, Merker is survived by her three daughters: Krista (Patrick) Reilly, Kathryn (John) O'Hanlon and Kassandra (Scott) McDowell and nine grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on June 3 at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church, 7 Pound Ridge Road in Bedford with internment to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in the Bronx. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to St. Patrick's Church.

The event takes place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Copper Beech Middle School. For donations, hair should be at least 8  inches, clean and dry and braided or pony-tailed. Norwalk Animal Control Sponsors Rabies Clinic NORWALK, Conn. -- Norwalk Animal Control and the Norwalk Town Clerk's Office will hold their 11th Annual Rabies Clinic from 10 a.m. to noon June 7 at the Norwalk Animal Control Division, 13 S. Smith St., East Norwalk. The cost per rabies shot is $20 for residents and non-residents. All dogs must be leashed and cats must be in carriers. Residents also can get dog licenses for $8 for neutered or spayed dogs and $19 for un-neutered.
