Certified yoga instructor Maria Savarino will talk about the health benefits of meditation and how to do it in a practical and accessible way in daily life. Homegrown String Band Plays At New Rochelle Farmers Market NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- The Homegrown String Band will perform at the BID Farmers Market in New Rochelle's Library Green on Saturday, July 4, from noon-1 p.m. The family band is inspired by the rural American string bands of the early 20th century and plays instruments such as the guitar, fiddle, banjo, mandolin, dulcimer, ukulele, jaw harp, harmonica, doumbek and percussive dance.  Blankets or folding chairs are recommended for the free concert.  The BID Farmers Market is open every Saturday from 9 a.m.-2 p.m.

Pelham Arts Center Goes Green With Sculpture Workshop PELHAM, N.Y. -- The Pelham Art Center will "Go Green" with a free sculpture workshop during the Pelham Block Party on Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m.  Participants will learn from artist Kristin Rego how to collect discarded materials to create and build a personal sculpture or design a 3-D "painting" with plastics. Rego created the Fugitive Color installation in the Pelham Art Center Courtyard with bottle caps.  The workshop is open to all ages and cap donations are welcome.
