Putnam Valley Student Honored In Science Competition PUTNAM COUNTY, N.Y. -- Putnam Valley sophomore Elizabeth Tarrant took third place in the biochemistry division of the 4th annual Westlake Sophomore Science Research Competition June 6.  Tarrant's entry was “Using P300-MERMER To Detect Information That May Be Lost to a Subject’s Conscious Recall.” The P300-MERMER machine was invented by her mentor, Lawrence Farwell, as a way to create "brain fingerprints" of memories.
