The Massaro House was inspired by Wright's designs for a canceled Petra Island house project.  Originally a storage facility for the New York Central Railroad, the Freight House stored blocks of ice cut from Mahopac Lake. Darien High School Ranked Eighth Best In U.S. For STEM Program DARIEN, Conn. -- US News & World Report ranked Darien High School in eighth place in the U.S. for STEM (Science, Technology, Math, Engineering) education.  Since 2005, the Darien Foundation provided over $325,000 in grants to the school's science and technology departments as well as gifts such as the PASCO Physics Lab, a Leica Microscopy Lab and an iPad PASCO lab.  Rankings are based on the level of math and science participation and success. Advanced Placement data from 2013 was used for the criteria.  For the full list of national rankings, click here.

Greater Bridgeport Youth Orchestras Perform At Pequot Library SOUTHPORT, Conn. -- The Greater Bridgeport Youth Orchestras will perform at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 23, on the Pequot Library’s Great Lawn. The family-friendly outdoor concert will feature its string orchestra, wind ensemble, jazz ensemble and symphony orchestra. The free concert will be between 60 to 90 minutes. Mount Vernon's Edward Williams Elementary Chorus Performs In Manhattan MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. -- Select members of Mount Vernon's Edwards Williams Elementary School Chorus performed "Gold" at the Pierre Hotel National Mother's Day Council Luncheon on May 7. The students performed for more than 500 guests at the Manhattan hotel under the direction of chorus instructor Antonella Delli Carpini. The luncheon annually honors mothers who balance the demands of motherhood with exceptional careers. This year's main honoree was television personality and philanthropist Meredith Vieira.

Registration Begins For Greenwich Summer Ramp Camp GREENWICH, Conn. -- Registration has begun for the summer Skate Park Ramp Camps at Greenwich Skatepark. Starting June 22, weekly sessions will continue throughout the summer for skateboarders between ages 6-14. Skaters will play games and learn new tricks from an experienced, fully trained staff while skating during camp time.  The skate camp is weekly from 9 a.m. to noon Mondays through Thursdays with a rain date Fridays.
