STAMFORD, Conn. — Longtime Stamford resident Caroline Iovanna died Monday, May 9. She was 96.
A Stamford resident of 64 years, Iovanna was a New York native, who graduated from James Monroe High School with a perfect score on the math regents exam.
Iovanna worked at First National City Bank, now Citi Bank, before building a dental practice in Stamford with her husband for 50 years.

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — Bridgeport resident Herminia Rios died on Tuesday, May 10. She was 90.
Rios was born in Naranjito, Puerto Rico on June 4, 1925, to Lorenzo and Claudia (Morales) Rios.
She worked in Bridgeport at The Salvation Army.
She is survived by daughters Gloria Vidal, Olga Nellie Rivera, Jacinta Winn, Lucy Cintron, and Annette Nieves, a grandson Jeffrey A. Rivera, whom she raised as a son, and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

RIDGEFIELD, N.J. — Ridgefield resident Eleni Rentezelas (Bakogiannis) died Tuesday, May 10. She was 67.
A native of Greece, Rentezelas came to the United States in 1968 and was employed as a seamstress at Saks Fifth Avenue for almost 30 years.
Rentezelas is survived by her husband, Evangelos; daughter, Panagiota Antonopoulos and her husband Sotiris; son, Anargiros and his wife Jeanne and grandchildren, Evan, Matthew, Christina and Andreas.

Donald R. Mergenthaler, 66, Rhinebeck Resident
RHINEBECK, N.Y. — Rhinebeck native Donald R. Mergenthaler died Thursday, Dec. 17. He was 66.
A graduate of Red Hook High School, Mergenthaler served in the U.S. Army as an acting sergeant.
He also worked for many years as a groundskeeper at the Hudson River Psychiatric Center in Poughkeepsie before retiring in 2004.
After his retirement, he worked part time for Keil Equipment Co.

HOPEWELL JUNCTION, N.Y. – Hopewell Junction resident Carol Ann Bowman-Fusco died Monday, May 9. She was 64.
A Yonkers native, Bowman-Fusco had been an area resident since 2003.
She had been employed as an accounting manager at NY Medical College in Valhalla.

A native of Suffern, Martin owned Martin’s Community Residence in Sloatsburg for years.
She is survived by her son, James and his wife, Joan Martin; daughter Catherine and her husband, Robert Stritmater; grandchildren Louis, and Andrew; and two great-grandchildren.
