Joseph H. Bell, 97, Of Yonkers
YONKERS, N.Y. – Joseph H. Bell, a lifelong resident of Riverdale and Yonkers, died on Monday, Sept. 21. He was 97.
He served in the Marines during World War II.
He was the shipping and receiving supervisor for Phelps Dodge in Yonkers for 40 years.
Bell is survived by his daughter, Diane Elizabeth Brennan, her husband, Patrick and granddaughters Elizabeth and Kathryn.
Visiting hours are on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home, with funeral services set for 10 a.m. on Friday.

EASTCHESTER, N.Y. – Bernice M. Schulte, of Eastchester, died on Monday, Sept. 21. She was 87.
She was predeceased by daughters Betty Bard and Joan Heinzinger.
Schulte is survived by two sons, Stephen Heinz and his wife Bonnie, and Arthur Heinzinger and his wife Denise, three daughters, Therese "Teecy" Allison and her husband Tony, Ann Mariani and Barbara Heinzinger Bruno, two brothers, Bud Schulte and his wife Judy, and Peter Schulte and his wife Pam, sister Genevieve Malloy, nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

LARCHMONT, N.Y. – Fannie (Sganga) DeSanto, of Larchmont, died on Monday, Sept. 21. She was 94.
DeSanto was born on Oct. 4, 1920, to Mary (nee Bonomo) and Gabriel Sganga in Larchmont.
She attended Murray Avenue School and graduated from Mamaroneck High School as a member of the National Sport Honor Society.
DeSanto was an active member at Sts. John and Paul Church, serving as a Girl Scouts leader for more than 10 years and as the secretary of the Women's Club.

STAMFORD, Conn. – Theresa Frances O'Rourke, a longtime resident of Stamford, died on Saturday, Sept. 19 at Masonicare in Wallingford. She was 87.
O'Rourke was born on June 15, 1928, in the Bronx, N.Y., to Patrick and Catherine (McManus) O'Rourke.
She graduated from the Academy of Mt. Saint Ursula High School in the Bronx, attending secretarial school and working for Frank Munson, the CEO of General Reinsurance Corp. in Stamford and rising to the position of his executive secretary.

Elizabeth Poore, 84, Of Fairfield
FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Elizabeth Ann Poore, of Fairfield, died at her home on Saturday, Sept. 19. She was 84.
Poore was born on Dec. 30, 1930, in New York City to Katherine and Matthew Kelsh.
She graduated from the Academy of Sacred Heart of Mary and Berkley School in New York City, working at Young & Rubicam and living in Yonkers, N.Y., as well as Madison and Fairfield in Connecticut.
Poore is survived by her husband David; three daughters, Elizabeth, Kathleen Narwold and her husband Lee, Mary Vimini and her husband Paul; sister Katherine Robson; and four grandchildren.
