Palen Road Bridge In East Fishkill Back To Normal After Repairs EAST FISHKILL, N.Y. – The Dutchess County Department of Public Works announced that repair work on Bridge E-9 on Palen Road in East Fishkill has been completed, and the bridge is now open to regular traffic. The work replaced deteriorating beams on the bridge, raising the structure slightly and adding three-feet shoulders. Original plans for the two-stage project, which started in July, included completion by this spring, but target dates were moved up thanks to an accelerated schedule and a handful of temporary closures. Efforts Under Way To Support Family Of Area AD Killed In Car Crash MILLBROOK, N.Y – The Millbrook School community has begun efforts to raise support for the family of athletic director Ed Allen, who was killed Dec. 5 in a Route 44 car crash that left his two daughters in critical condition. Plans are in the works to set up a trust for Allen's survivors, wife Emily and their two children, Codie and Tatum. Millbrook staff also are planning on an alumni service and to provide campus assistance.

Marist College Poll Finds Most Americans Kept New Year's Resolutions A recent Marist College poll found that over 60 percent of respondents said they kept at least part of their 2015 New Year's resolutions going through most of the year. The poll found that out of those who vowed to change something about their lives in 2015, some 64 percent were able to keep that resolution in part through a large chunk of the year. That's up from 55 percent in 2014. As for 2016 resolutions, 39 percent of people polled planned on making a resolution, down from 44 percent in 2015.
