Nyack Man Stopped For Erratic Driving Charged With Felony DWI ORANGETOWN, N.Y. – Orangetown police arrested a Nyack man who was allegedly driving erratically early Jan. 4 and charged him with driving while intoxicated. James Bernick, 27, was charged after officers noticed his car moving erratically about 12:30 a.m. on Main Street in Nyack, police said. Bernick refused to take a breath test and was charged with a felony due to a previous DWI conviction in 2011, according to police. Bernick will next appear in Nyack Justice Court on Tuesday, Jan. 26.

Fire At Mount Vernon Chinese Restaurant Spreads, Destroying 3 Businesses MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. – The Mount Vernon Fire Department had to get help from units in Pelham and Yonkers after a fire started at a local Chinese restaurant and spread, destroying three businesses, according to multiple reports. The Golden Gate Chinese Restaurant on West Sandford Boulevard caught fire on Sunday. Once the fire had spread to a fish market, a grocery store and a home, the Pelham and Yonkers fire departments were called in, reported News 12 Westchester.
