Connecticut Hall Of Famer Honors Former Staples HS Soccer Stars WESTPORT, Conn. – Former Staples High School Wreckers soccer stars Steve Baumann an Ken Murphy will be honored by the Connecticut Soccer Hall of Fame on Jan. 30 in Cromwell, according to the Westport News. Baumann led Staples to a 43-3-3 record before graduating in 1970, going on to score 30 goals for the University of Pennsylvania and playing in the North American Soccer League (NASL), the News noted. Fishkill Police Investigate Fatal Motorcycle Accident FISHKILL, N.Y. – Fishkill police are still investigating a fatal motorcycle accident that occurred Monday afternoon, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal. Louis Sordi, 54, was riding a Harley-Davidson motorcycle north of Route 9 when he crossed over the double-yellow line and hit the front of a Ford van, the Journal said. Sordi suffered serious injuries and later was pronounced dead at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital in Newburgh, reported the Poughkeepsie Journal. Hyde Park Man Gets Prison Term For Cell Phone, Credit Card Theft HYDE PARK, N.Y. – A Hyde Park man is headed to state prison after he was sentenced for stealing a cell phone and credit card in July, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal. State Police said that 27-year-old Joseph Milone stole the phone and card out of a car in LaGrange and used it in Poughkeepsie, noted the Journal. Milone was sentenced to two and a half to five years in prison as a second felony offender, reported the Poughkeepsie Journal.
