Parents Invited To Free Wilton Seminar On How To Support Students
WILTON, Conn. – The Trackside Teen Center of Wilton will hold a free seminar on Tuesday, Jan. 12 at 6:30 p.m. on ways to support students in the coming year.
The seminar will focus on strategic study skills that can be used throughout the student's lifetime. Examples of skills being discussed include key study principles, goal setting, time management, note-taking, active reading, active listening, question generation, using graphic organizers, summarization and test preparation strategies.

HILLSDALE, N.J. – Evelyn F. (nee Fiani) Davis, of Sarasota, Fla., and formerly of Hillsdale, died Friday, Jan. 8.
Davis was born in Brooklyn and lived in Hillsdale for 50 years before moving to Florida.
She worked as an executive assistant and officer for Davis Marketing Associates Inc. of Franklin Lakes.
Davis was predeceased by her husband, George; a daughter, Christine Slezak; and four sisters, Margaret Dib, Alex Corey, Lorice Mulhern and Victoria Dib.

Donald K. Ross, Sr., 90, Of Franklin Lakes
FRANKLIN LAKES, N.J. – Donald K. Ross Sr., of Franklin Lakes, Water Mill, N.Y. and Vero Beach, Fla., died at his home in Franklin Lakes Jan. 5 after an extended illness.
Ross was born July 1, 1925, to Alexander and Althea Grainger Ross of Ridgewood, graduating from Yale University and serving in the U.S. Navy.
He joined New York Life Insurance as a trainee, and ended up serving as its CEO, president and chairman of the company's board of directors during the course of his career.

NANUET, N.Y. – Donald F. Liebert, of Nanuet, died Jan. 8. He was 86.
He was born to Walter and Ruth (nee Zwahlan) Liebert.He served in the U.S. Navy.
Liebert was predeceased by his parents and brother Walter.

EMERSON, N.J. – Sara L. Heskins, of Emerson and formerly of Upper Saddle River, died Friday, Jan. 8. She was 80.
Heskins worked as a special education teacher in the Ramsey school system.
She was predeceased by husband David.
She is survived by four daughters, Laurie and Howie Edelstein of River Edge, Barbara and Glenn Davis of Randolph, Susan and Howard Lazar of Teaneck and Randi and Dan Paul-Heskins of Fair Lawn, 12 grandchildren and sister Beatrice Citron of San Antonio, Texas.

Warm December Affects Snow Budgets Across Hudson Valley
PUTNAM COUNTY, N.Y. – The warm temperatures throughout December have affected winter snow-removal budgets all over the Hudson Valley, according to LoHud.com.
Municipalities traditionally set their budgets at an average of what they've spent over a certain number of years, noted LoHud.com.
For some areas, like Mount Vernon, the heavy winter of early 2015 hasn't been offset by the warm end of the year, going over budget by at least $50,000, reported LoHud.com
On the other hand, Dobbs Ferry has only spent about $15,000 of its yearly budget so far, LoHud.com says.

Norma Ronchetti, 89, Of Woodcliff Lake
WOODCLIFF LAKE, N.J. – Norma Ronchetti, of Woodcliff Lake and formerly of Cliffside Park, died Jan. 7 after a long illness. She was 89.
Ronchetti was born March 12, 1926, in Union City to Joseph and Emilia Bertoldo.
She worked for Prentice Hall in Englewood Cliffs and in Saddle River, working in the company's college books division.
