Caroline Benoit, 89, Of Ridgewood
RIDGEWOOD, N.J. – Caroline J. Benoit (nee Daley), a longtime resident of Ridgewood, died at her home Nov. 7. She was 89.
She graduated from the Syracuse University School of Nursing, serving in the U.S. Army Cadet Nurse Corps from 1943-48 and going on to serve as vice president of Ramapo Travel in Airmont, N.Y.
Benoit was predeceased by her husband Woodrow.
She is survived by five children, Peter and Sue, Stephen, Caron and Andreas, three grandchildren and four nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass is scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel R.C. Church, 1 Passaic St., Ridgewoo…
Eugene Basdermajian, 92, Of Fort Lee
FORT LEE, N.J. – Eugene Basdermajian (nee Haigian), of Fort Lee, died Sunday, Nov. 8. She was 92.
Basdermajian was born in Syria.
She was predeceased by her husband Garbed.
She is survived by her son Tony Bastian and his wife Araxie, two daughters, Jeanette Khorenian and her husband Haig, and Viki, four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and three siblings, Nver Gulekjian, Araxie Hakimian and MariJeanne Dertorosian.
Visiting hours are from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the St. Thomas Armenian Church, 174 Essex Drive, Tenafly.
The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in the church. …
Take A Swing At Mini Golf As It Returns To The Darien Library
DARIEN, Conn. – The Darien Library will hold its second annual Mini Golf Event on Friday, Nov. 13, and Saturday, Nov. 14.
As with last year's event, the library becomes the site of an 18-hole golf course, as holes are set up around existing bookshelves.
The event is broken up between adults and families, as an evening round is set for Friday, Nov. 13, from 7 to 10 p.m. This adult event will feature drinks and appetizers from Two Roads Brewing Company, Leary’s Liquor Cabinet and Simply Creative Catering.
Families get a crack at the course on Saturday, Nov. 14, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
