Classic Movies For Adults Screened In Lodi LODI, N.J. – The Lodi Memorial Library will continue its new program of classic movie screenings for adults in November. The next film is Nov. 20, when 1982's “An Officer and a Gentleman” with Richard Gere and Debra Winger will be shown. Our Lady Of Lourdes Wins Football Sectional Title DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. – The Our Lady of Lourdes High School football team avenged an earlier loss to unbeaten Rye High School with a 14-7 win in Saturday's Section 1 Class A title game, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal. Two other local teams lost in sectional finals on Saturday. John Jay lost to New Rochelle in the Class AA final, and Milbrook lost to Liberty in the Section 9 Class C final, reported the Poughkeepsie Journal. Legislator Wants To Rename Westchester Airport In Honor Of Al DelBello WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – County Legislator Ken Jenkins of Yonkers is leading a push to rename Westchester County Airport in honor of former County Executive and Lewisboro resident Al DelBello, according to News 12 Hudson Valley. Jenkins' proposed name is the Alfred DelBello Westchester County Airport, News 12 reported. DelBello, who served as county executive from 1974-82, died May 15 at the age of 80. Halloween Weekend Police Detail Nets 24 Arrests In Dutchess County DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. – A joint effort between multiple departments, including the Dutchess County Sheriff's office and state police, resulted in 24 arrests during Halloween weekend, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal. The various departments arrested 15 people for impaired driving, along with nine other arrests. Other departments involved in the effort included local officers from Poughkeepsie, Hyde Park, East Fishkill, Millerton, Wappingers Falls and Red Hook, reported the Poughkeepsie Journal. Hackensack River Moves Closer To Federal Superfund Designation HACKENSACK, N.J. – The Hackensack River moved closer to federal Superfund designation on Nov. 5 when the state Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) agreed to further sample the river's sediment, according to NorthJersey.com. The Superfund program aims to clean up the most polluted areas in the county, and New Jersey has over 100 sites across the state already in the program. EPA testers looked at the lower 17 miles of the river over the last few months and found high levels of cadmium, lead, mercury, dioxin and PCBs, and other contaminants, reported NorthJersey.com.
