CT Oil Tank Driver Nabbed For DUI At Six Times Legal Limit, Police Say
A Connecticut oil tanker driver was nabbed allegedly driving high on alcohol or drugs at six times the legal limit while hauling more than 2,000 gallons of fuel oil.
New London County resident Joshua William Blanchette, age 35, of Libson, was charged on Wednesday, July 5 after receiving a call from his employer that he was driving drunk, said the Connecticut State Police.

Drunk Driver With Gun In Pants Nabbed In Hudson Valley Stop, Police Say
A man from the region was found with a .357 Desert Eagle in the front of his pants during a traffic stop by state police in the Hudson Valley.
Ulster County resident Jason Lynch, age 44, of the town of Lloyd, was stopped around 1:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 4 in a 2014 Lexus IS in the city of Newburgh.
According to Trooper Steven Nevel, while troopers were speaking to Lynch, they learned that his license was suspended, and he seemed to be impaired by alcohol.

Pleasure Beach Reopens After Tick Treatments, Bridgeport Officials Say
After an outbreak of ticks, one of Fairfield County's favorite beaches will reopen this weekend.
The City of Bridgeport announced on Friday, July 7, it had completed multiple tick applications and would reopen on Saturday, July 8.
"In a proactive effort to safely open Pleasure Beach, our team has undergone multiple site visits including members from the State of Connecticut specializing in tick population/control, Connecticut Audubon Society, and outside contractors," city officials said.

Hit-Run: Stratford Man Charged With Killing 19-Year-old Woman
Police have arrested a man for a hit-and-run crash that killed a 19-year-old Fairfield County woman.
Troy Watley, age 28, of Stratford, was arrested on Saturday, July 1, after he allegedly hit and killed the 19-year-old shortly after 12 a.m., near St, Michael’s Cemetery on Stratford Avenue and then fled from the scene, said Capt. Frank Eannotti, of the Stratford Police.
When Stratford police arrived on the scene they found Michelle Rodriguez, of Stratford, lying in the roadway, Eannotti said.
She was rushed to Bridgeport Hospital where she died from her injuries.
