She spent 17 years at Florida Today in Melbourne, Florida as a general assignment reporter, crime reporter, entertainment reporter and restaurant critic. She worked four years at Hometown News as a general assignment reporter, then another two years at Spacecoast Daily in Cocoa Beach, Florida. She attended Eastern Florida State College in Melbourne, Florida.

Rabid Raccoon Case Confirmed In Region Health officials in the region have put out a warning to residents regarding a rabid raccoon found in the area. Sullivan County Public Health has confirmed that a raccoon in the Fremont Center area tested positive for the rabies virus. “The raccoon was killed, and the property owners called Public Health, just as they should,” said Acting Public Health Director Karen Holden. “The head of the raccoon was sent to Albany today, and it came back positive for rabies.” Rabies occurs commonly throughout New York State, with the vast majority of cases occurring in wild animals, including raccoons,…

Teen Charged With Calling In Bomb Threat To CT High School A Connecticut teen has been charged with calling in a bomb threat to an area high school that caused an evacuation of the school. Hartford County resident Tamir J. Skyers, age 18, of Hartford, was arrested on Tuesday, May 2 for the Tuesday, April 18 incident at South Windsor High School. According to Sgt. Darien Pizza Shop Employee Charged With Assault While Working A Fairfield County man was charged with assault after allegedly getting into a fight while working at a Darien pizza parlor. Wilmer Gaibor, age 24, of Stamford, was arrested in Darien on Wednesday, April 26. According to Sgt. Dan Skoumbros, of the Darien Police, Gaibor turned himself in to the Darien Police on an active arrest warrant stemming from an incident that took place in March. Be Wary Of New Scams Involving Law Enforcement In Hudson Valley With scams everywhere today, even police departments can be used to get money from unsuspecting or vulnerable people. The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office warns of a new scam circulating that involves scammers posing as law enforcement. Felony DWI: Hudson Valley Woman On Probation Caught Again, State Police Say A Hudson Valley woman who was on probation for DWI/Leandra's Law was allegedly caught driving drunk again. The incident took place in Orange County Saturday, April 29, around 10:20 p.m., in the town of Newburgh. According to Trooper Steven Nevel, a trooper from the Montgomery barracks was patrolling in the town of Newburgh on Hy Vue Drive when he spotted a 2006 Nissan-Altima violating traffic laws. 1 Man Seriously Injured In Rear-End Crash In CT One man was seriously injured when the motorcycle he was driving allegedly slammed into the back of a 2009 Honda Civic at a red light. CT Driver Of Stolen Maserati SUV Involved In Hit-Run Crash Nabbed A Connecticut hit-and-run driver was caught after he allegedly crashed a stolen black Maserati SUV into two vehicles and then jumped out and ran. School Bus Crash: 13 Children, Driver Suffer Injuries On Long Island A crash between a school bus and a pickup truck on Long Island sent 13 students and the drivers of both vehicles to the hospital. The crash took place in Nassau County around 3:30 p.m., Monday, May 1 in East Meadow on Old Westbury Road. Gun Buyback Program In Hudson Valley Nets 235 Weapons, Including Assault Rifles A recent community gun buyback event netted 235 firearms in one city in the region. The annual Ulster County program -- held Saturday, April 29 in Kingston -- sponsored by New York Attorney General Letitia James, the Kingston Police Department, and the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office is the largest gun buyback hosted in the region, the AG's Office said. Assault: CT Group Home Staff Member Punches Man In Face, Police Say A Connecticut man was charged with alleged assault after punching an intellectually disabled person in the face. The incident took place in New Haven County on Friday, April 28, in Naugatuck.
