Fatal Fire: CT Man Found In Basement Following Blaze, Police Say A man was found dead in a basement following a fire at a Connecticut home. The fire took place in Hartford County around 10 p.m., Monday, May 1 in Bristol on Steele Road. Bristol firefighters and police officers responded to the call for an active structure fire, said Bristol Police Lt. Patrick Krajewski. “As firefighters searched the home, they located an elderly male in the basement, who they removed to an awaiting ambulance where lifesaving measures were taken,” Krajewski said. 2020 Stabbing In Bridgeport Ruled Homicide By Medical Examiner Police homicide detectives are investigating a nearly two-and-half-year-old stabbing in Fairfield County that has been ruled a homicide by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. On Monday, May 1 the medical examiner's office ruled that the stabbing on Thursday, Dec. 3, 2020, of Gregory Williams, age 68, of Bridgeport which left him in critical condition a homicide, said Capt. House Full Of Neglected Animals Deemed Unhabitable In Fairfield A Fairfield home has been deemed uninhabitable after police and animal control found 25 dogs and 22 cats malnourished and living in feces and urine. The discovery took place during the week of Tuesday, April 17 when a concerned citizen contacted police about a dog that was found roaming in the Steep Hill Road area of Fairfield, said Lt. Fight At Stratford Gym Ends With Gun Drawn, 2 Arrests, Police Say Two Fairfield County men were arrested after getting into a fight at a popular Stratford gym with one pulling a gun. The incident took place in Stratford around 1:30 p.m., Saturday, April 29 at the Esporta Fitness located at the 411 Barnum Avenue Cutoff. According to Capt. Duo Nabbed With Cocaine In Hidden Compartment Inside Mercedes In Hudson Valley, Police Say Two men were nabbed with cocaine found in a hidden compartment in their vehicle during a traffic stop in the Hudson Valley, police said. Awakened Resident Scares Off Burglar Inside Trumbull Home A resident woke up to find a burglar inside a home in Fairfield County and managed to scare the person off. The incident occurred around 5 a.m., Saturday, April 29, in Trumbull, on Haverhill Road. According to Lt. Brian Weir of the Trumbull Police, the homeowner was alerted to someone walking inside the home. When confronted, the burglar ran out of the house and down the road.
