Man Sentenced For Murdering Ex-Girlfriend's Daughter In Hudson Valley A Hudson Valley man has been sentenced for stabbing his ex-girlfriend's daughter to death. Dutchess County resident Paul Senecal, age 39, of the city of Poughkeepsie, was sentenced on Monday, April 10, to life in prison without the possibility of parole, said Dutchess County Chief Assistant District Attorney, Matthew Weishaupt. Senecal was convicted by a jury in February of murder in the first degree, and two counts of murder in the second degree, along with other charges in the stabbing death of Melanie Chianese, age 29, in her town of Wappinger home, Weishaupt said. “The …

Small Plane Clips Roof Of Danbury Home, Crashes Into Shed Two people were injured after a small plane crashed into a Fairfield County shed wedged between two homes. The crash took place in Danbury around 6 p.m., Monday, April 10, in the area of 161 Southern Blvd., about three miles from Danbury Airport, the Danbury Fire Department reported. The single-engine Cessna 152 clipped the roof of a home and then crashed into a small shed on the side of the property, officials said. Popular Store To Close After 70 Years In Business In Ridgefield One of Fairfield County's go-to office supply and stationery stores that has been around for almost 70 years is closing its doors for good. Dog Rescued After Falling Down Catch Basin In Hudson Valley A cute little pooch with vision problems was saved from a catch basin along a Hudson Valley roadway by a local police officer. The dog was saved in Rockland County on Monday, April 10, when Stony Point Police Sgt. Kurt Mulligan happened to spot the dog while on patrol along Buckbert Mountain Road in Tomkins Cove, the department said on Facebook. Woman's Body Found Floating In Hudson River A woman's body was discovered floating in the Hudson River. The unidentified woman was found in Dutchess County around 10 a.m., Monday, April 10 near the Mid-Hudson Bridge and the city of Poughkeepsie. Sheriff's deputies responded to the area after receiving a report of a possible body in the river near the Mid-Hudson Bridge, said Capt. John Watterson, of the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office. CT HS Teacher Charged With Having 'Inappropriate Relationship' With Student A Connecticut high school teacher is behind bars after admitting he had an "inappropriate relationship" with a student almost 10 years ago. Tolland County resident Kris Coffey, age 43, of Coventry, was charged on Friday, April 7 following a lengthy investigation by the Connecticut State Police. Hudson Valley Man Killed After Falling Off Bike Into Path Of Car A Hudson Valley man was hit and killed after falling off his bicycle and being struck by a car. The crash took place in Orange County around 12:15 a.m., Monday, April 10 at 141 Union Street in the village of Montgomery. New Update: 43-Year-Old Fairfield Woman Struck, Killed By Metro-North Train On Easter Sunday A woman was killed after being struck by a Metro-North train on Easter. The incident happened early Sunday afternoon, April 9 in Fairfield County near the station in the town of Fairfield, according to MTA officials.
