Kitchen Fire Closes Popular Peekskill Restaurant A popular Northern Westchester restaurant known for its wings, burgers and ribs and for being a great place for families to have a dinner out is closed due to a kitchen fire. The fire took place in Northern Westchester County on Saturday, April 8 at the New York Firehouse Grille at 63 Welcher Ave., in Peekskill. Although no one was injured, the entire kitchen was destroyed. The owners said on Facebook the restaurant will be closed while they deal with insurance and rebuild the kitchen. Bridgeport Man Who Stripped Teen Naked, Shot Him Mulitple Times Sentenced A Bridgeport man who had been on the run for more than five years has been sentenced for the brutal 2017 murder of a teen. Jahmari Cooper, age 23, of Bridgeport, was sentenced Wednesday, April 12 to 45 years in prison for the October 11, 2017 gunshot murder of Jeri Kollock, Jr., age 18, in the Green Homes Housing Project in Bridgeport, said Fairfield Judicial District State’s Attorney Joseph Corradino. Moose Sighting: Drivers Beware, Say State Wildlife Officials A moose is out exploring the world for spring, and Connecticut wildlife officials are warning drivers to beware. The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection said the moose has been spotted in Hartford County in the area of Route 20 in East Granby, within five miles of I-91. Restaurant Fight: Ridgefield Woman Charged After Incident In Darien, Police Say A woman was charged after allegedly slapping a woman's cell phone out of her hand and making comments about her ethnicity at a restaurant in Fairfield County. Fire At Stamford Hotel Parking Garage Causes Structural Concerns An early morning fire at a Stamford hotel parking garage has caused structural concerns preventing investigators from accessing the scene. The fire took place around 5 a.m., Thursday, April 13 in the covered parking garage of the Armon Hotel located at 2701 Summer St. Numerous cars were burned in the fire, said Capt. Long Island Teen Shot, Killed In Broad Daylight During Altercation Police are investigating after a Long Island teenager was shot and killed during an altercation. The incident took place in Suffolk County around 3:55 p.m., Wednesday, April 12, on Hill Circle in Calverton. According to Suffolk County Police detectives, Preston Gamble, age 15, of Calverton, was involved in an altercation between two groups of teenagers and young adults when he was shot. New Bridge Construction To Close Rockland County Roadway For Months Rockland County drivers will need to find detours when construction begins on a new bridge in Rockland County. Snake Hill Road in West Nyack will be closed between Old Mill Road and Crusher Road beginning Tuesday, April 18 lasting into September, said the Clarkstown Police. The closure is due to a new bridge being constructed over the railroad tracks. Detour signs will be posted on Old Mill Road and Kings Highway. Drivers should be prepared to use alternate routes of travel during this time.

CT Homeowner Rushed To Hospital After Trying To Fight Off Car Thieves In Driveway A Connecticut homeowner was rushed to the hospital after being attacked by four suspects, one of whom was allegedly attempting to steal his car. Drunk Driver: Man From Region Nabbed After Hitting Pickup Truck, Police Say A man from the region who was allegedly driving drunk was nabbed after swerving off the roadway and hitting a parked pickup truck.
