Head-On Crash: CT Woman Killed, Second Driver Injured A 39-year-old Connecticut woman was killed after allegedly crossing the double-yellow line and hitting a pickup truck head-on. The crash took place in Tolland County around 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 11, on Route 32 in Mansfield. Connecticut State Police said Vanessa Marie Rivero, of the town of Willington in Tolland County, was driving north on Route 32 near Mansfield City Road in a 2022 Volkswagen Jetta when she crossed the double-yellow line and hit a 2012 GMC Sierra head-on, before hitting a guardrail. Hartford Man Found Shot To Death In Broad Daylight On City Street, Police Say Police are investigating the shooting death of a Connecticut man after police responded to a ShotSpotter notification. The incident took place in Hartford County around 12:15 p.m., Tuesday, April 11 in the area of Capen and Enfield Streets in Hartford. Dump Truck Bursts Into Flames Near Metro-North Tracks In Tarrytown, Causing Delays Metro-North commuters on the Hudson Line are experiencing slight delays due to a dump truck fire on the tracks in Westchester. The incident took place in Tarrytown at about 1:50 a.m., Wednesday, April 12 when a track equipment train caught on fire south of the Tarrytown station, said MTA officials. Fatal Crash: Man Hit, Killed Running Across Busy CT Roadway A Connecticut man was hit and killed by a car as he ran across a busy roadway. The crash took place in New Haven County around 4 p.m., Friday, April 7 in Milford in the area of Boston Post Road and Meadow Street. $9M Pavement Project Begins On I-87 Stretch The New York State Thruway Authority has announced the start of a $9.7 million pavement improvement project on the New York State Thruway (I-87) spanning Orange and Ulster counties. New Update: ID Released For Suspect Nabbed After Easter Shooting At Home In Hudson Valley A Hudson Valley man was charged after allegedly shooting his stepfather on Easter Sunday. The incident took place in Putnam County on Sunday, April 9 in the town of Southeast on Ridgebury Road. According to Trooper Steven Nevel, state police responded to the home after receiving a report of a dispute between a stepfather and stepson. Norwalk Man Nabbed Recording Video While Driving Classic Car 133 MPH, Police Say A man has been arrested after allegedly filming an 18-second video while driving his classic Chevy Nova at 133 miles per hour in Fairfield County. The incident began on Tuesday, March 28, when the state police became aware of videos posted to Instagram and Facebook showing the driver of an unknown Chevrolet traveling at speeds of approximately 133 mph in a 55 mph zone on Route 7 in Norwalk.
