She spent 17 years at Florida Today in Melbourne, Florida as a general assignment reporter, crime reporter, entertainment reporter and restaurant critic. She worked four years at Hometown News as a general assignment reporter, then another two years at Spacecoast Daily in Cocoa Beach, Florida. Ex-Deputy Mayor In Hudson Valley Headed For Jail On Gun Charges A former Hudson Valley deputy mayor has pleaded guilty to six felony counts of criminal possession of a weapon. Ramapo resident Brian Downey, age 49, of Airmont, plead guilty on Tuesday, Feb. 28 in connection with the discovery of a cache of weapons during a search of his Airmont home on Thursday, Sept. 2, 2021, said Rockland County District Attorney Thomas Walsh. He faces two years in the Rockland County Jail for his convictions, Walsh said. 3 Women Charged With Faking Missing Person Report In Region, State Police Say Three women from the area have been charged with allegedly falsely reporting a missing person. The incident took place in Sullivan County on Saturday, Feb. 18 in Fallsburg. Lisa M. Grab-Run Theft: Trio Make Off With $24K In Versace Handbags At Long Island Store Police are searching for a man and two women who allegedly made off with more than $24,000 in handbags from a Versace store on Long Island. The incident took place in Nassau County around 3:50 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28 at the Versace store in Manhasset, located at 2006 Northern Blvd. According to detectives, a man, and two women entered the store and grabbed various bags, and exited the store without making a payment. Husband, Wife Die After Falling Through Ice In Sullivan County A husband and wife died while on a fishing trip after falling through thin ice in the region. The incident took place in Sullivan County around 8:15 p.m., Monday, Feb. 27 in the hamlet of Loch Sheldrake. Mall Fight: CT Man Accused Of Being 'Combative' With Security An 18-year-old man was charged after allegedly getting into a large fight at a Connecticut mall and being combative with a security guard. 5 Drug Traffickers Nabbed In Hudson Valley, DA Says Five people have been charged with alleged crimes pertaining to trafficking cocaine, crack and ecstasy in Orange County. Ready To Shovel Snow? A Few 'Angels' Are Needed In Greenburgh With such a mild winter, not many volunteers have been needed to shovel snow for those who can't. Fentanyl, Crystal Meth Dealer Busted At Hudson Valley Hotel, Police Say An alleged fentanyl and crystal meth dealer was busted at a Hudson Valley hotel following an investigation into drugs in the region.
