Darien Train Station Car Break-Ins: Suspect Charged Gave False Name, Police Say A suspect has been apprehended for allegedly attempting to break into cars at a Fairfield County train station. The incident took place in Darien at the Noroton Heights Train Station around 4:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 23. Person Struck, Killed By Metro-North Train In Hudson Valley One person was killed after being struck by a Metro-North train in the Hudson Valley. The incident took place in Dutchess County around 6:30 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 1 near Dover Furnace Road in Dover Plains on Metro-North's Harlem Wassaic Branch. An individual who made contact with a train is deceased, MTA officials said. The MTA Police Department was notified and responded to conduct an investigation. Fire Starter Nabbed On Scene Of CT Blaze That Left 20 Homeless, Police Say A man who allegedly intentionally set a fire at a Connecticut residential dwelling was nabbed by police on the scene of the blaze. The fire took place in New Haven on. Friday, Jan. 27 at 38 Bishop St. Upon arrival, New Haven firefighters found heavy smoke emanating from the second floor of the residence. Man Critical After Being Found Shot On CT Street, Police Say Police are investigating after a Connecticut man was found shot on a city street. The shooting took place in Hartford around 1:50 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 31 in the area of 1053 Capitol Ave. According to Lt. Aaron Boisvert of the Hartford Police, the man was found after officers responded to a ShotSpotter notification. Woman Killed After Being Ejected In 2-Vehicle Hudson Valley Crash A woman was killed after being ejected from a car during a two-vehicle crash in the Hudson Valley. The crash took place in Orange County around 2;10 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 29 on I-84 in Wallkill. When New York State troopers arrived on the scene they found a 2020 Acura RDX and a 2019 Dodge down an embankment off the north shoulder, said Trooper Steven Nevel. Woman Falls 40 Feet From Stratford Bridge, Lands On Construction Barge A woman who was working on a Fairfield County bridge was seriously injured when she fell through a hole and landed 40 feet below on a construction barge. The incident took place in Stratford around 8 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31 at the Devon Bridge, said Robert Daniel, assistant chief/fire marshal for the Stratford Fire Department.
