Carlucci Leads Italian-American Culture Celebration
CLARKSTOWN, N.Y. -- State Sen. David Carlucci, D-Rockland-Westchester, led the annual Italian-American Day celebration in Albany on June 6. The celebration was in partnership with the New York Italian American Conference of State Legislators, of which Carlucci is also president. Italian-Americans from across the state gathered at the annual Albany conference to celebrate their heritage and pride with authentic cuisine. Trumbull K9 Officer Cyrus Dies
TRUMBULL, Conn. -- K9 Cyrus of the Trumbull Police Department died unexpectedly Tuesday morning. He assisted the department making many felony arrests and locating missing persons. He also assisted in various drug arrests, including a large seizure of heroin. He was a partner to Officer RJ Carlson, as well as a member of the Carlson family. Shelton Man Charged With Using Forged Fishing License
SHELTON, Conn. — A Shelton man and a Berlin woman recently were arrested for allegedly possessing forged fishing licenses. Bradford L. Benton, 47, of Shelton, and Kelly N. Shemeth, 24, of Berlin, were spotted fishing April 18 by a police officer of the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection Environmental Conservation. The officer conducted a fishing compliance check, which allegedly revealed neither Benton nor Shemeth had purchased valid 2016 fishing privileges and possessed a document in the format of the 2011-style of fishing license. Bronxville's Connor Daly Wins State Golf Title
BRONXVILLE, N.Y. -- Bronxville High School's Connor Daly won the 2016 New York State Public High School Athletic Association Boys Golf Championship Daly shot an even-par 71 to finish at +3 and win by one shot. He is the second individual champion from Section 1 in a row to take the title. James Nicholas won in 2015. Three golfers tied for second at +4. The championships took place at Robert Trent Jones Golf Course at Cornell University on June 5 and 6.

Nearly 5,000 Turn Out For Poughkeepsie Walkway Marathon Race Series
POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Dutchess County government has released a video of the second annual Walkway Marathon Race Series that took place in Poughkeepsie on Saturday and Sunday. Close to 5,000 runners, supporters, volunteers and spectators gathered along the Poughkeepsie waterfront for an event that marathon organizers have declared a "huge hit."
