White Plains Shoppers Learn About Robotic Surgery Technology WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- Holiday shoppers at The Westchester in White Plains got to Meet the Robot on Saturday when NewYork-Presbyterian/Lawrence Hospital staff demonstrated the daVinci robotic surgical system. Eastchester third-grader Joseph Morris tried handling the controls of the robot. The hospital’s surgical team showed how intricate surgeries are performed using robotic technology.  Surgeries performed with the daVinci system are less invasive and help patients recover faster.

Yonkers Center Cares For Abused Dog; Owner Faces Animal Cruelty Charges YONKERS, Conn. -- A dehydrated, anemic and allegedly abused dog will be staying at the Yonkers Specialty Center for a few months after being rescued in Brooklyn, according to a story on Westchester News 12.Ginger, along with another dog, were rescued after being locked in a cage for seven months, according to Westchester News 12. Rosa Catania, of Brooklyn, is facing animal cruelty charges, the story said. Ginger had suffered three broken legs and could not move, Westchester News 12 said.
