Oradell Invites Kids To Free Halloween Party
ORADELL, N .J. -- Oradell Public School will have a Halloween Party for all kids from kindergarten to Eighth Grade Friday, Oct. 30. The 6-9 p.m. free admission party features DJ Double C playing all the greatest hits, and includes arts and crafts, snacks, drinks and Halloween goodie bags. Pizza will also be available for $2 a slice. The party will be held in the gym. Pair Charged In Ridgewood Church Shooting Brought To Court
RIDGEWOOD, N.J. -- Two cousins charged with shooting up a landmark Ridgewood church last winter were arraigned Monday morning in Hackensack on eight separate counts, including firing an assault rifle. Their attorneys entered not-guilty pleas for Alexander Norrell of Ridgewood and Joseph Galli, both 22-year-old former U.S. Marines. Leonia, Palisades Park Luring Convict Gets 4-Year Sentence Suspended
LEONIA, N.J. -- A self-employed photographer from Englewood had a four-year prison sentence suspended by a judge in Hackensack in exchange for remaining in sex-offender therapy. Jay Dorfman, 66, plea-bargained the deal after authorities charged him with trying to lure girls into his car in Leonia twice and approaching women in Palisades Park. Investigators said he fondled himself in front of a woman on a bicycle and made sexually explicit comments to another after using a ruse of asking for directions. Paterson Police Arrest Man On Weapons Charges After Anonymous Tip
PATERSON, N.J. -- An 18-year-old man was arrested in Paterson on Friday night on weapons charges, NJ.com reported. Paterson police arrested Delshawn Wright Friday night on an anonymous tip and charged him with unlawful weapons possession, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and possession of hollow-point bullets, according to the website. MAHWAH, N.J. -- The township’s fall leaf collection program begins this Monday, Oct. 19. Residents can start putting leaves at curbside for collection this weekend. Teaneck Salary Increases Questioned, Tabled
TEANECK, N.J. -- An across-the-board increase of 2 percent to salaries for non-union workers was tabled Tuesday after citizens and a councilman questioned the need, NorthJersey.com reported. Councilman Jason Castle questioned the need for the increases, particularly for vacant positions, the story said.
