Wilton Schools Open Next Fall On Sept. 6
WILTON, Conn. -- Students at Wilton public schools will return for the 2016-17 academic year on Tuesday, Sept. 6, according to the Wilton Bulletin. The Board of Education voted to approve a revised school calendar featuring the opening date during its Jan. 28 meeting, the Wilton Bulletin reported. NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- The City School District of New Rochelle will kick off its Black History Month initiative with a talk from author David Banks on Thursday, Feb. 4. Deadline For Stamford Christmas Tree Pickup Approaches
STAMFORD, Conn. -- The Stamford Highways Department will continue to pick up Christmas trees from curbs until Sunday, Feb. 14, weather permitting. Residents with a tree still on their curb are asked to call (203) 977-4140 before Feb. 14 to arrange pickup and disposal. After Feb. 14, residents will have to dispose of their Christmas trees without assistance from the city.

Bethel Woman Charged With Harassment, Assault In Danbury
DANBURY, Conn. -- A Bethel resident faces multiple charges after police said she harassed and assaulted a woman in Danbury on Friday, according to The News-Times. Traci Jones, 45, started banging on the victim's car window at the traffic light at Beaver Brook Road and Starr Road, and punched and pulled the victim's hair at one point, police told The News-Times. Stratford Library Sunday Talk Considers First In Flight Debate
STRATFORD, Conn. -- The Stratford Library will continue its Sunday Afternoon Talk Series with a discussion on the first in flight controversy on Feb. 7. The program is based on Susan Brinchman's book “Gustave Whitehead: First in Flight" about the controversy over whether the Wright Brothers or Gustave Whitehead flew first.
