REDDING, Conn. -- Mark Twain Library in Redding will hold the panel discussion "Breathe ... The Varied World of Yoga" on Jan. 7. The panel will cover the differences between types of yoga such as Bikram, Ashtanga and Iyengar and how to determine which is best for you. Stanford Free Library Gets New Hours For 2016
STANFORDVILLE, N.Y. -- Stanford Free Library will begin 2016 with a new set of operating hours. On Monday and Wednesday, the library will be open from 9 a.m. to noon and then again from 2 to 8 p.m. The library will open at 2 p.m. and close at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. It will open on Saturdays at 9 a.m. and close at 2 p.m.

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- The Bardavon in Poughkeepsie will continue its "The Met: Live in HD" series with a broadcast of "Les Pêcheurs de Perles" on Saturday, Jan. 16. Retrial Granted For Fishkill Man Sentenced To 58 Years For Sex Assault
FISHKILL, N.Y. -- A Fishkill man sentenced to 58 years in prison for sexual assault will receive a new trail, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal. Justin Carrino, 31, was convicted of predatory sexual assault, two counts of first-degree aggravated sexual abuse, first-degree rape, two counts of second-degree assault and first-degree criminal contempt in 2013, the story said. The appellate division of the New York State Supreme Court has granted Carrino a retrial due to statements that were made after he invoked his right to counsel. Yorktown Woman Faces Charges After Christmas Eve Crash
YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- A minor car accident led to a young woman being charged with aggravated unlicensed operation on Christmas Eve in Yorktown Heights, police said. Julia Gunther, 24, was charged with driving with a suspended license following property damage she reportedly caused while driving on Dec. 24. Officer Tillistrand responded to the area of 2131 Fountain Ct. at around 6:43 p.m.and found Gunther's license was suspended. POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- The new year was welcomed along with a new mayor on Saturday, Jan.2 with the swearing in of Rob Rolison, reports, twcnews.com. Rockland Historical Society Schedules Bus Trip To NYC Museum
NEW CITY, N.Y. -- The Historical Society of Rockland County will host a Feb. 6 day trip to the Museum of the City of New York. The outing will feature guided tours of the Jacob A. Riis: Revealing New York's Other Half exhibition and Gilded New York. Participation is $99 for society members and $109 for non-members. The fee includes bus transportation, two guided gallery tours and an all-museum pass. Lunch is not included. New Jersey Symphony Orchestra Leads Musical Conversations At Leonia Library
LEONIA, N.J. -- Frank Foerster and Adriana Rosin of the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra Chamber Players will engage in "Musical Conversations" at the Leonia Library Jan. 16.
