Serendipity Chorale Performing At Temple In Ridgefield
RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- The Serendipity Chorale will join Congregation Shir Shalom’s Adult Choir for a performance at Temple Shearith Israel on Jan. 15. “Thirteen is a significant number in Judaism,” said Cantor Deborah Katchko-Gray. “The numbers of 13 add up to equal the word ahava- love. This is the year of love for the chorale to share in our music!” The performance will be the 13th year Cantor Katchko-Gray and Gigi Van Dyke have collaborated to mix prayer with traditional spirituals. Englewood School Plans Alumni Giving Day
ENGLEWOOD, N.J. -- Dwight-Englewood School will have its annual alumni giving day Jan. 23 to raise money for its programs and students. The independent, co-educational college preparatory day school has almost 900 students in pre-school through 12th grade in its lower, middle and upper schools. It is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools and the New Jersey Association of Independent School. JCC On The Hudson Delivers Gifts To Blythedale Children’s Hospital
VALHALLA, N.Y. -- The kids of Blythedale Children’s Hospital recently received holiday gifts collected and wrapped by the Early Childhood Program of the JCC on the Hudson. “They were so pleased, and they loved the wrapping job our kids did with crayons, stickers, ribbon and lots of colored tape,” said committee member Jennifer Lewin, of Dobbs Ferry. “They were so happy.” JCC on the Hudson in Tarrytown collected and wrapped the gifts at a pre-school Chanukah party as one of several initiatives of the school's mitzvah committee.

New Yorkers Predict A Woman President Elected In 2016
New Yorkers expect an improved financial year and the first woman president to be elected in 2016, according to a poll by Siena College Research Institute. Most New Yorkers polled believe a Donald Trump presidency is unlikely and that Congress is unlikely to work on their behalf. Forty-one percent also predicted a New York team in the Super Bowl and 36 percent expected a Mets vs. Yankees World Series. Maritime Aquarium's Winter Cruises Spotlight Migrating Seals, Waterfowl
NORWALK, Conn. -- The Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk will seek out visiting seals and waterfowl on its upcoming Seal-Spotting and Birding Cruises. During the winter, harbor and gray seals migrate into Long Island Sound from northern waters and rest on rocks exposed at low tide. Aquarium educators will point them out and discuss their natural histories and the Sound's marine population during the winter season.
