TARRYTOWN, N.Y. -- Former Gov. Malcolm Wilson's name is currently on the Tappan Zee Bridge, but the name of its upcoming replacement is up in the air, according to a report on lohud.com. Some feel Wilson's name should remain on the replacement bridge, but others say a new bridge should get a new name, lohud reported. An unscientific survey in downtown Yonkers revealed many are unfamiliar with the current bridge's name, according to the report. Local, State Leaders Call On Cuomo To Prioritize Infrastructure
Local and state leaders in the advocacy group Rebuild NY Now have called on Gov. Andrew Cuomo to prioritize infrastructure funding in next year's budget, according to Time Warner Cable News. Carlstadt Increases Amount It Costs To Get Your Car Towed
CARLSTADT, N.J. -- The Carlstadt Borough Council has voted to increase the towing fee from $125 to $140 maximum for wheel lift and flatbed tow truck service, according to a report in NorthJersey.com. The fee for trucks, SUVs and pickups under 5 tons is $175 and $250 for vehicles over 5 tons. Towing for motorcycles and motor scooters are $135, NorthJersey.com reported. Six Westchester County Golf Courses To Close For Season
WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Six Westchester County-owned golf courses will close for the season after play on Sunday, Jan. 3. The six courses are Dunwoodie and Sprain Lake in Yonkers, Maple Moor in White Plains, Mohansic in Yorktown Heights, Saxon Woods in Scarsdale and Hudson Hills in Ossining. They are expected to reopen in March, weather and conditions permitting.
