Roger George Schwarz, 72, Of Stamford STAMFORD, Conn. -- Roger George Schwarz, 72, of Stamford, died Sunday, Dec. 6, of cancer. Formerly of Harrison, N.Y., Schwarz was president of Rolin Inc. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Linda (Levinson) Schwarz; daughter Sherry and her husband David Jareckie; siblings Dr. Kenneth Schwarz, Gail Molina and Suzie Schwarz and their spouses; sister-in-law, Myrna (Levinson) Feinman, and her husband. Santa will ride on fire trucks throughout the district along with Yorktown's Volunteer Firefighters. Tickets Available As Danbury Music Centre Stages 'The Nutcracker' DANBURY, Conn. -- Tickets are still available for Danbury Music Centre's production of "The Nutcracker" on Dec. 11 through 13. The production will take place at Danbury High School on Dec. 11 at 7:30 p.m., Dec. 12 at 1:30 and 6 p.m. and Dec. 13 at 3 p.m. Ariel Rudiakov will conduct the Danbury Symphony Orchestra as they perform Tchaikovsky's score. Brookfield's Arthur Fredric will direct more than 200 dancers from the greater Danbury area for the production. Ossining Library Displays Resident's Artwork OSSINING, N.Y. -- Ossining Public Library will exhibit the paintings of local artist Donna Faranda in January. An artist reception will take place on Jan. 9 from 2 to 4 p.m. The exhibit will run from Jan. 2 to Jan. 30. Farranda utilizes the technique of pointillism to indulge a love of color in her figurative paintings of women. She aims to reflect women's inner stories and beauty through her works.

Indoor Field Hockey Clinics To Be Held In Greenwich GREENWICH, Conn. -- Friday is the deadline to sign up for field hockey clinics for children at the Bendheim Western Greenwich Civic Center on Sunday mornings in early 2016. The clinic will assist players in developing skills in stick work, shooting, passing, receiving, offense, defense and small sided games. Sessions begin Jan. 10 and will meet again on Jan 17, 24 31 and Feb. 7 and 21. Norwalk Receives Grant To Help Low-Income Residents With Job Training NORWALK, Conn. -- The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development has approved close to $1.2 million in grants to assist low-income residents in the Nutmeg State in finding employment and obtaining job training skills. “We have made extraordinary investments in job training and dramatically increased the availability of affordable housing – both deliver more vibrant communities,” said Gov.
