Sullivan Correctional Facility Officers Cleared In Death Of Inmate WOODBOURNE, N.Y. -- Three officers at Sullivan Correctional Facility were cleared in the death of inmate Karl Taylor, according to a report on Time Warner Cable News. Twenty inmates were interviewed and gave testimony as part of the investigation, according to Time Warner Cable News. A grand jury declined to indict the officers. Taylor died from cardiac arrest earlier this year after an altercation with the three correctional officers. The officers were injured during the altercation, Time Warner Cable News reported. Presented by Friends of the Northvale Library, the store features homemade items such as soap bombs for $3, packets of soap for $5, decorative wine bottles for $10 and more. They were made by Party Planning by MelisB. Ten percent of the proceeds will benefit Friends of the Northvale Library.

County Executive Marc Molinaro Offers Advice To Oswego Mayor DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. -- Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro and County Legislature Chairman Rob Rolison met with Billy Barlow, Mayor-Elect of the City of Oswego on Tuesday to offer advice. At 25, Barlow will become the state's youngest current mayor when he takes office next month. Molinaro previously served as the country's youngest mayor at 19 for the VIllage of Vivoli in 1995. He emphasized the significance of building consensus, transparency in government and listening to constituents.

Water-Withdrawal Applicants Exempted From Environmental Review POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- A new state law has increased the number of entities that must seek a permit if removing more than 100,000 gallons of groundwater or surface water daily. However, the law exempts Department of Environmental Conservation staff from conducting any environmental review of any application. Suffern HS Coach Joe Biddy To Be Inducted Into Armory Coaches Hall Of Fame SUFFERN, N.Y. -- Suffern Senior High School coach Joe Biddy will be inducted into the Armory Coaches Hall of Fame during the AT&T Hall of Fame Invitational on Dec. 19. Biddy has been the head coach for boys cross country at Suffern since 1969, head boys indoor track coach since 1973 and head girls indoor track coach since 1978.
