AAA Pleads For Auto Makers To Keep The Spare Tire
FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- AAA wants automobile manufacturers to stop selling new cars without spare tires. According to AAA Northeast, more than 30 million drivers are at risk along the roadside since more than a third of new cars are sold without a spare. In place of a spare tire in the new cars are inflator kits to improve fuel efficiency by lowering car weight. Spring Valley Fire Damages Home, Destroys Two Cars
SPRING VALLEY, N.Y. -- A chain-reaction fire that started with dry leaves left a Spring Valley home damaged and two cars destroyed, according to westchester.news12.com. The fire broke out early in the morning on Nov. 16, in the brush of a Ridge Avenue property, westchester.news12.com said. . For around half an hour, firefighters battled a blaze that left two cars charred husks, according to news12. Southeast Man Charged With Raping 13-Year-Old
PUTNAM COUNTY, N.Y. -- A man from the Town of Southeast was arrested after allegedly raping a 13-year-old resident of Putnam County, the Putnam Sheriff's Office announced Tuesday. Officers from the Sheriff’s Department's Bureau of Criminal Investigation arrested Ronaldo Araely Lopez-Miguel, 20, on Nov. 11 for the alleged rape of the girl. AAA Reveals Drop In Thanksgiving Gas Prices Across Connecticut
FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Thanks to lower gas prices, about 47 million Americans are expected to travel during the Thanksgiving holiday this year. According to AAA, the percentage of people traveling between Nov. 25-29 is expected to increase by 0.6 percent, which is the seventh year in a row of consecutive Thanksgiving travel growth. MOUNT PLEASANT, N.Y. -- Mount Pleasant Education Foundation's Turkey Trot Kids Fun Run and Adult 5K will take place Sunday at Westlake High School.
