Auditions Rescheduled For Mount Vernon Youth Talent Show MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. -- Auditions for the "Straight Outta Mt.Vernon" youth talent showcase will be held Oct. 15 at the Rev. Shelton E. Doles Community Theatre. Youth from the ages of 5 through 21 are invited to show their talent in singing, dancing and spoken word, as well as bands, choirs and exhibitions from 4 to 6 p.m. Auditions were originally scheduled for Sept. 30.  The talent showcase takes place Nov. 1 from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Doles Community Theatre. Released in 1945, "They Were Expendable" dramatizes the role American PT boats played in defending the Philippines during World War II. The film stars Robert Montgomery, John Wayne and Donna Reed. Film historian Lou Sabini and photographer Nick Scutti will lead a discussion following the film. Wrong-Way Driver In Westport Faces Drug Charges WESTPORT, Conn. -- A 43-year-old Waterbury man was arrested and charged with possession of controlled substance and several motor vehicle violations after he was spotted driving the wrong-way down a Westport road, police said. Rony Rodriguez was pulled over after traveling down the one-way section of Post Road East in the wrong direction Oct. 11, police said.  Rodriguez's license was suspended and the plates did not belong to the uninsured vehicle he was driving, police said.  He was arrested after a search of the vehicle turned up a bottle containing 22 narcotic pills with no name on the …

Klein Middle School.  Proceeds benefited the Elementary Enrichment Committee programs at all four elementary schools in Harrison. The event was canceled on Friday due to inclement weather.
