AAA Expects Slight Surge In Holiday Traffic
WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- The American Automobile Association expects a slight increase in traffic during the Independence Day weekend. According to AAA Northeast, 2.1 million New Englanders are expected to travel for the holiday, with 1.8 million hitting the road between July 1-5. Nationwide, nearly 42 million people are expected to take a holiday trip, a 0.7 percent increase compared to 2014. Greenwich Prepares For Annual Sidewalk Sale
GREENWICH, Conn. -- The Greenwich Chamber of Commerce is holding its annual sidewalk sale on Greenwich Avenue from July 9-12. The sidewalk sale is the largest shopping extravaganza in downtown Greenwich. In addition to shopping and dining sales, the event features live music and a balloon artist and face painting for kids. Lewisboro To Host Annual Fireworks Show
WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Lewisboro will have its 17th annual fireworks spectacular Tuesday at Onatru Farm Park Fields 3, 4 and 5. Festivities begin at 7 p.m. with a performance by Annie and the Natural Wonder Band followed by The Mystery Tour at 8:15 p.m. The fireworks display will begin at approximately 9:25 p.m. Admission is $20 per car and designated parking will begin at 5 p.m. The Lewisboro Lion's Club will sell food and drinks. Summer Gala Held At Putnam's Boscobel House & Gardens
GARRISON, N.Y. -- Boscobel House & Gardens provided a show-stopping backdrop for the Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival with its Summer Gala earlier this month. The theater company’s annual event took place June 6 on the east lawn adjacent to the mansion, overlooking the Hudson River. The scene was perfectly set for an elegant evening that included cocktails, an auction, dinner and dancing to a live orchestra. All proceeds went to the support of the Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival.

Croton Students Entertain With Dancing Robots
CORTLANDT, N.Y. -- Students in Rachel Lang's and Alison Romm's homerooms at Pierre Van Cortlandt Middle School recently entertained their peers and teachers with robots they built and taught to dance. “As we worked our way through this unit, I introduced a new phase with each new task/experiment,” said Lang. “With LEGO Robotics, the students had to use the entire process to build and program a successful robot.” Part of the LEGO Robotics initiative, the project represented the culmination of the classes' engineering unit.
