UJA's Scarsdale Women's Philanthropy Works To Feed The Needy SCARSDALE, N.Y. -- UJA-Federation of New York's Scarsdale Women's Philanthropy, equipped with 200 pounds of tuna salad and egg salad, recently came together to make 750 sandwiches for hungry New Yorkers. More than 35 women came to the Jewish Community Center of Mid-Westchester in Scarsdale, a UJA-Federation beneficiary agency, to assemble and pack the sandwiches, which will be distributed to clients of the Bronx Jewish Community Council (BJCC), another UJA-Federation beneficiary agency. Happy Birthday To Pleasantville's Otis Hill PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. -- A special Happy Birthday to Pleasantville's Otis Hill. Celebrating his birthday March 31, successful basketball star Otis Hill, a Pleasantville High School graduate, turns 41. Not only did Hill receive many awards while playing basketball at Pleasantville, but he also went on to play at Syracuse University. He retired in 2009 after playing professionally in several different countries, including Beglium and Spain. He also played in the Ukrainian Basketball SuperLeague and the Croatian League, where he was named Most Valuable Player.

AAA Study: Distracted Teen Drivers Bigger Problem Than Thought FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- There’s significant evidence that distracted driving among teen drivers in Fairfield County and beyond is a much more serious problem than you realize, a AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety study said. In the most comprehensive research ever conducted into crash videos of teen drivers, the foundation found distractions are a factor in nearly six of 10 moderate-to-severe teen crashes, a number that’s four times as many as official estimates based on police reports.
