Sandra Diamond Fox has been a journalist since 2005, working for The News-Times and The Redding Pilot prior to coming to the Daily Voice. She has a bachelor's degree in English from Stony Brook University and a Master's degree in publishing from Pace University. She married with four teenage children and is a competitive runner and avid exerciser.

Prometheus Lights Up Redding's Mark Twain Library With Chamber Music REDDING, Conn. -- Prometheus, an ensemble of the nation’s finest musicians, will play expressive music during an Allen & Helen Hermes Art Series’ chamber music concert at the Mark Twain Library in Redding on Sunday, at 3 p.m. Formed 20 years ago, "Prometheus" is a group of five dedicated performers who explore a broad range of musical repertoire in a wide variety of ensemble configurations. History Professor Speaking At Westport Library About Voting Rights Act WESTPORT, Conn. — Julian Madison, an associate professor of history at Southern Connecticut State University, will speak about the 50th anniversary of the passage of the Voting Rights Act in 1964 Thursday, Oct. 29, at 7 pm., in the Westport Library’s McManus Room. Norwalk Woman Earns Volunteerism Award From Family & Children's Agency NORWALK, Conn.-- Family & Children’s Agency presented board member Virginia (Ginny) Martin with the Anne C. Cary Volunteerism Award at its recent annual meeting in Norwalk. Martin has been involved with the agency for more than 35 years. She began volunteering in 1980, and eventually joined the board of directors in 1994. Sacred Heart University Ranks Among Best Business Schools FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Bloomberg has named Sacred Heart University's Jack Welch College of Business one of its Best Business Schools for 2015. The College of Business, located on the campus in Fairfield, ranked 70th in the list’s Best Part-Time MBA category. It was the only part-time MBA program in Connecticut to make the list. To determine the rankings, Bloomberg studied current student data from the 2014-15 school year, as well as alumni feedback. Nearly 100 Bike Riders Raise $10,000 At Family Cycling Event In Scarsdale SCARSDALE, N.Y. -- Despite the cold weather, 97 bicyclists raised just under $10,000 for the Schechter Annual Fund on Sunday.. Tour de Schechter is a community-wide, family-friendly cycling event that celebrates Schechter Westchester’s 50th anniversary. It took place at the Schechter Westchester Upper School campus, 555 West Hartsdale Ave., Hartsdale. The cost was $65 per adult and $36 per child, including a T-shirt and barbecue lunch. River Club Owner Throws Community Party To Say Goodbye To Nyack NYACK, N.Y. -- After more than 30 years in business, with lots of birthdays, weddings and community events along the way, Nyack is saying goodbye to The River Club, according to a story on lohud.com.Michael Hekker, the restaurant's owner, hosted a community party last week to say goodbye, and the doors to the River Club are now officially closed, lohud.com said. Fund Set Up For Baby Girl Of Shelton Woman Killed In Crash SHELTON, Conn. -- A fundraising drive has been set up to help pay for the education of the 15-month-old daughter of a Shelton woman who was killed in a car crash.
