Stratford Sister Cities Chorus Looking For Performers
STRATFORD, Conn. -- The Stratford Sister Cities Chorus is looking for new members among both high school students and adults. Prospective singers are invited to attend the chorus' free upcoming performance "Wintry Mix: Remixed" on Jan. 31 to see if they enjoy what they hear. The performance takes place at Stratford Library's Lovell Room at 3 p.m. Founded in 1990, Stratford Sister Cities Chorus performs the likes Tin Pan Alley and Broadway classics to folk, pop and traditional songs. Eastchester HS Teacher Explains Internship Program To Chamber Of Commerce
EASTCHESTER, N.Y. -- Eastchester High School teacher Phyllis Rothschild recently addressed the Chamber of Commerce to explain the goals and features of the WISE program. Rothschild encouraged participation by members of the local business community to sponsor at least one graduating senior. She is coordinator of Eastchester High's WISE Senior Internship Program.

Dutchess County Set To 'Ban The Box' Criminal History On Job Applications
DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. -- County Executive Marcus Molinaro announced that Dutchess County will "ban the box," according to Time Warner Cable News. The ban refers to the pre-screening question from employers asking if a job applicant has a criminal history, was ever dishonorably discharged from the military or was fired, said Time Warner Cable News. NEWTOWN, Conn. -- Mark Barden, father of a Sandy Hook Elementary School victim, provided a lone voice at a Senate hearing regarding President Barack Obama's recent executive order to close the gun-show loophole, according to The Connecticut Mirror. Governor Malloy To Visit Cannon Grange In Wilton
WILTON, Conn. -- Gov. Dannel Malloy will drop by the Cannon Grange in Wilton on Jan. 21 for a visit. Malloy's visit will last from 7 to 7:30 p.m. A presentation by the Apple Blossom School will follow at the grange. Both events are free. There is no set program for Malloy's visit. Apple Blossom School and Family Center was founded in Cannondale in 2004 and offers programs for physical, emotional and intellectual development for children from birth to age 7. Cannon Grange is located at 25 Cannon Road in Wilton.
