Tommy Fox's In Bergenfield Welcomes Comedy Festival Winner
BERGENFIELD, N.J. -- John McClellan will perform at Tommy Fox's Comedy Night on Friday. McClellan won the grand prize at the Seattle International Comedy Festival and has appeared on Millionaire Matchmaker. Comics John Clark and Michelle Johnson will also perform at Comedy Night. Englewood Artist's One-Woman Sale Benefits Scholarships For Youngsters
ENGLEWOOD, N.J. -- Norma Wellington Designs will hold a jewelry sale to benefit a scholarship program on Dec. 1. There will be a $10 discount for every $100 spent. Gifts start at $50. A portion of proceeds from the sale will help subsidize scholarships for youth to attend The Performing Arts School at bergenPAC. Hackensack Honors Veterans Day With Ceremony
HACKENSACK, N.J. -- The City of Hackensack will have a Veterans' Day ceremony Wednesday on the Courthouse Green. The holiday began in 1919, when President Woodrow Wilson declared Nov. 11 as the first commemoration of Armistice Day. It became Veterans' Day and a public holiday to honor the veterans of all wars in 1954. The ceremony begins at 11 a.m. The Courthouse Green is at Main and Court streets.

iPads Enhance Learning At Brewster's C.V. Starr
BREWSTER, N.Y. -- Apple's iPads have enhanced learning in Meghan Johnston's math classes at C.V. Starr Intermediate School. “The iPads have been a very useful classroom tool,” Johnston said. “My students are more willing to take risks and step out of their comfort zone on technology.” The tablets help motivate students to incorporate new ways of learning math, enhance their thinking about number relationships and help with learning sense development, operations and fluency with math facts.
