Learn History Through Popular Songs At Darien Library
DARIEN, Conn. -- Senior Moments at Darien Library will revisit the popular music of the 1950s and '60s with a performance Thursday by Marc Black. Black will perform popular songs, such as "Blue Suede Shoes," "Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini" and "Blowin' in the Wind" in a multimedia presentation. Senior Moments is a coffee and conversation program that meets monthly at the Darien Library, 1441 Post Road. The presentation starts at 3 p.m.

Norwalk Little League Starts Fundraising Drive To Rebuild Broad River FIeld
NORWALK, Conn. -- The Norwalk Little League has launched a fundraising drive to rebuild the Broad River facility. The project aims to raise $25,000 for two new grass infields, sprinkler systems and permanent fencing at the facility. Norwalk Little League began in 1951, but currently is unable to host summer all-star district games without a signature playing field. Even without any home games, its 10-year-old all-stars won the District 1 Championship for the first time in Norwalk Little League's history in 2014 and the 12-year-old all-stars won for the first time since 1986. ArtsWestchester Displays Yorktown Photographer David Rocco's Work
YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- ArtsWestchester of White Plains exhibited the work of Yorktown Heights photographer David Rocco. Rocco's photograph of the North County Trailway Croton Reservoir railroad bridge was placed on the first floor with other changing landscape images. His photo of Donald Trump and Louis Cappelli is featured on the second level among other Westchester County game changers. Rocco's Pete Seeger image was placed in the Vault of ArtsWestchester Gallery. ArtsWestchester previously featured Rocco's photographs in a Hurricane Sandy exhibition in 2013.

Larchmont Lions Receive State Service Club Award
MAMARONECK, N.Y. -- State Sen. George Latimer presented the Larchmont Lions Club with the New York State Senate Service Club of the Month Award. The award recognized the Larchmont Lions Club for its community services such as aid for the blind, eye-care health and support for local and senior citizen programs. The club also had a presence at the Larchmont 125th Anniversary Celebration on Sept. 26 with three guide dogs in training for the blind and the launch of the Art for Peace competition.

OSSINING, N.Y. -- The Energize Ossining Recognition event takes place Tuesday, at 7:30 p.m., at the Ossining Public Library. Ossining Town Supervisor Susanne Donnelly, Ossining Village Mayor Victoria Gearity, Town Board Members and Green Ossining will recognize 27 people for upgrading their homes for energy efficiency. YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- The Seventh Annual Yorktown Festival and Street Fair takes place Sunday, Oct. 11 in downtown Yorktown. PEEKSKILL, N.Y. --The award-winning play "Call Mr. Robeson" will be performed at Paramount Hudson Valley Theater on Nov. 7. "Call Mr. Robeson" is a journey through the ups and downs of the actor, singer and civil rights campaigner Paul Robeson's life. Robeson was a forerunner of the civil rights movement and subsequently summoned before the House Committee on Un-American Activities and blacklisted during the McCarthy era.
