Friends Of Danbury Library Accepting Donations Of Books, CDs, DVDs DANBURY, Conn. -- Have any unwanted books, DVDs or CDs? The Friends of Danbury Library are holding this month's drop-off day on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Friends sorting space, 30 Main St. Volunteers will collect donations at the building's side entrance and help unload cars. Books should be gently used, and VHS tapes, magazines, badly damaged books, Reader's Digest condensed books, textbooks older than three years, computer books older than two years or textbooks with highlighting and writing cannot be accepted.

Somers Library Hosting SAT, ACT Practices SOMERS, N.Y. -- The Somers Library will hold practice tests for the ACT on Saturday, Aug. 8 from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and SAT on Saturday, Aug. 15 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The practice tests are geared towards helping high school students prepare for the real ACT and SAT. Participants must be between grades 9 and 12 and bring pens, pencils, a calculator and a snack and water. Advande registration is required. Learn About Ferns At Westchester Land Trust Walk In Pound Ridge POUND RIDGE, N.Y. -- The Westchester Land Trust will hold a field walk with Fernando Matos from the New York Botanical Gardens on Aug. 16 from 9:30 a.m. to noon at the Westchester Wilderness Walk/Zofnass Family Preserve.  During the walk, hikers will learn about the life cycle, ecology and evolution of ferns and how to identify them. The preserve is home to 17 species of ferns.  The walk is intended for adults and space is limited.
