'Gasland II' Screens In Danbury
DANBURY, Conn. -- Occupy Danbury and the Greater Danbury MoveOn.Org Council are hosting a free screening of "Gasland II" at A Common Ground Dance Studio on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. "Gasland II" is the sequel to Josh Fox's Oscar-nominated documentary "Gasland" and examines the environmental impact of hydraulic fracturing.

Darien Library Screens 'Interstellar'
DARIEN, Conn. -- Darien Library will host a screening of "Interstellar" in the Louise Parker Berry Community Room on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. In "Interstellar," humanity is facing extinction as Earth is devastated by drought and famine, and a group of explorers searches for another planet that can sustain life. The 2014 film stars Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, and Jessica Chastain, is rated PG-13 and has a run time of 169 minutes. The screening will be presented with captions for the hearing impaired.

Rye Library Kicks Off Summer Reading Program
RYE, N.Y. -- “Every Hero Has a Story,” the Rye Free Reading Room’s 2015 Summer Reading Program, kicks off with a visit from Christopher D’Agostino on June 29 at 2 p.m. D’Agostino will combine storytelling with face painting and audience participation for children entering grades K through 5. Way Of The Sword Fencing Club Offers Camp In Ridgefield
RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- The Way of the Sword Fencing Club will offer camps in July and August for kids ages 8 to 18. There are weeklong camps as well as half- and full-day camps. The Way of The Sword teaches fencing as a sport and art form. Students will develop physical techniques, mental strategies and social etiquette skills at the summer camps. Westport Begins Selling Tickets For July 3 Fireworks Show At Compo
WESTPORT, Conn. -- The Westport Police Athletic League and Westport Parks and Recreation will hold the annual Independence Day Fireworks Celebration at Compo Beach on July 3. To purchase tickets, visit the Westport Police Department at 50 Jesup Road or the Westport Parks and Recreation office at 260 Compo Road S. Tickets are $35 per car and capacity is limited. Shuttle passes will be available once car tickets sell out. In the event of rain, the event will be held on July 6.

Pound Ridge Elementary Hosts Chick Incubation Program
POUND RIDGE, N.Y. -- Students at Pound Ridge Elementary School recently participated in the Spring Embryology and Incubation Program. During the five week, PRES PTA-sponsored program, children turned and candled eggs to see the embryonic development of chicken embryos and recorded daily incubator temperature and humidity levels. After three weeks, the students observed the hatching of the chicks and learned how to care for them during the next five days. North Salem's Lakeside Field Club To 'Swim Across America'
NORTH SALEM, N.Y. -- Lakeside Field Club will have its 5th annual Swim Across America fundraising event from 5-8 p.m. July 26. The theme for 2015 is "Bring a Friend" and participants are encouraged to invite friends and create their own team or swim individually. A barbecue in the Lakeside Field Club's grove will follow for all participants, swimmers and volunteers. Swim Across America raises awareness and money for cancer research, prevention and treatment.
